Braces are orthodontic appliances that are used to reposition teeth that are improperly aligned or mal-occluded. During your pet’s initial oral examination, we will perform a bite or occlusal evaluation. If their bite is not correct, you may want to consider orthodontics.

Teeth that strike other teeth (or even soft tissues) can result in a fracture of the tooth, tooth inflammation, periodontal inflammation, pain, and even the loss of a tooth. Traumatic malocclusions can also contribute to the development of periodontal disease.

Anachoresis is used to describe the spread of bacteria through the bloodstream. This is typically the reason for the spread of infection from dead teeth and the mouth to other organs like the liver and kidney.

It is important to consider the pet’s age when determining the different treatment options. There are interceptive orthodontics that are performed primarily on a pet’s baby teeth or a mixture of baby and adult ones.
