There is no question that dental disease impacts quality of life. Studies show it affects systemic health and longevity as well . Our passion is restoring and maintaining comfort for all life stages. Our favorite , when we get to hear how much better your pet feels!
Dr. Martin is well traveled, but now considers Portland to be home. A native Floridian, she earned her bachelors in Animal Science from the University of Florida. She then spent 2 years studying in Scotland at the University of Glasgow, before returning stateside to earn her DVM from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2006. She started practicing in a small animal hospital in Wisconsin before transplanting to Portland. Along this journey, both her family and her passion for pet dentistry has grown.
Rebecca spent 5 years working closely with the amazing veterinary dentist and textbook author, Dr. Pat Frost Fitch Diplomate of the AVDC (American Veterinary Dental College). Dr Frost not only helped Rebecca hone her advanced dentistry skills, but her encouragement helped inspire Rebecca to venture out on her own. Dr Martin has some very big shoes to fill as she tries to take on at least a small part of the legacy of this inspiring dentist and role model.
Rebecca enjoys the PNW with her husband, son, pet conure, cats, chickens, and greater swiss mountain dogs. She occasionally finds time to pursue baking, gardening, and travel to visit family on the gulf coast of Florida where she grew up.
